About Me

Hey Fit Fam! A little bit about myself...my name is Brooke, some call me Brookie. I have enjoyed working out for most of my life, but decided to pursue my dream of competing in a bikini competition in October of 2013. Prior to committing to comp prep I had put on 15 pounds in 2 months. I was suffering from post-partum depression after bringing my son home, and was dealing with a lot of guilt for that because we were so blessed to have such a quick adoption and a perfectly healthy baby. (We brought him home 10 days after submitting our paperwork!) When my depression set in, I knew I needed to make some changes in my life. Choosing to compete was one of the best decisions I've ever made! In this past year I've lost 25 pounds, but more valuable than that is the confidence I've gained in knowing that I can accomplish whatever I put my heart into. I did my first competition in October of 2014 and am now prepping for my second show in spring of 2015. I hope to have gained enough muscle to move into the figure division by this summer. I started this blog to hold myself accountable, and to hopefully inspire others to pursue their dreams! There are a lot of negative stereo types about women who compete, and a lot of poor dieting methods and unqualified coaches that misguide their clients. I am passionate about educating others how wrong those stereotypes are and helping to share what I've learned working with 2 different coaches and trying 2 different methods of dieting. My journey of prepping for a show has been such a tremendous blessing. I truly have a new lease on life! I'm excited to share what prep life is like, and how I try to juggle it with a growing business, and motherhood.

A little bit about my family...I have been married for 8 years, and we have had the privilege of adopting 2 beautiful babies; Penny who is 3 and Tucker who is 1. My husband, Gabe, and I grew up in Denver but met at Utah State. After graduating we moved to New York City for some priceless job experience but decided to move back to Logan once we were ready to expand our family. My husband is an Interior Designer. He's currently finishing his MFA and is busy manufacturing a high end furniture line that we will be launching in NYC this summer. We own The Crepery, a boutique coffee and crepe shop. We're excited to expand our business to St. George this winter.

If you are looking to start your own fitness journey, I would love to help you get started! I specialize in the IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) lifestyle and also offer online fitness training. Please take a look at my "online training" section for further info. I hope you enjoy a look into my prep life. If I can do it, you can too!!
